Though she has taken her own time to enter politics, Ms Priyanka Gandhi has done the right thing at the right time. She is entering politics at the right time, is the general feeling among Congress rank and file. Many feel she has the qualities of her grandmother Indira Gandhi and would remind everyone of her when Priyanka holds rallies. Congress leaders feel that there would be massive crowds at her rallies and she could surpass all political records for being the biggest ever crowd puller. There is no word whether Robert Vadra will also be joining politics.
Congress feels BJP will now certainly feel low. It’s confidence must have been shaken as it was looking to emerge as the single largest party in 2019 elections. In Uttar Pradesh, the SP and BSP will also have to think deep before sidelining the Congress as the party now has a vote catching star.
Not many political leaders know anything about Priyanka as she had hardly interacted with anyone. She has kept herself aloof from politics. She was once seen in one television interview.
She has handled Amethi and Rae Bareilly constituencies with aplomb. Constitutencies from where her mother and brother have been elected.
It remains to be seen how Priyanka’s entry will help Congress in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
