The much talked about biopic , “Thackeray” on Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray was released to packed theatres on Friday. The film, produced by Saamna editor Sanjay Raut and starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Balasaheb was released both in Marathi and Hindi.
The film created history as its show started at 4 in the morning in Mumbai which never happened for any movie in the past. Online booking for the show has received overwhelming response.
The film should be watched by every patriot. Mr Balasaheb Thackeray who founded the Shiv Sena more than 50 years back was known as Hinduhriday samrat. His Shiv Sainiks would bring Mumbai to a halt in no time, something which was impossible for any leader.
The movie highlights how Thackeray fought for Marathi Manoos all his life. It depicts Thackeray as someone who lived up to his word, a patriot who did not hanker for personal gains for power. Though he was a die hard politician, he never aspired to become an MLA or the chief minister. Sainiks say he was never against any particular community but hated those who celebrated when India lost to Pakistan on sports field. The movie brings out the true picture of him and therefore it should be watched to understand him.
