Mr Rajendra Shelke, Kasarwadi’s Number One cricketer, has been elected as the director of the Dharmaveer Sambhaji Cooperative Bank. He richly deserves this post.
Mr Shelke, or better known as Rajubhau or Raja to his friends in Kasarwadi Eleven Cricket Club, has been a born leader. When he was leading the Kasarwadi Eleven Cricket Team years ago, his leadership qualities were much on display. He led the team from the front, encouraged his team-mates to put in their best and picked up talented cricketers from nowhere and blooded them into the team. In those days, he was like the Imran Khan of Kasarwadi. Though he did not speak English like his more illustrious team-mate Sunil Chacko did, but Raju Shelke had the most brilliant cricketing brain. Kasarwadi had never seen a cricketer who excelled in all cricketing departments, including batting, bowling, fielding and captainship.
He was tough, friendly, caring and large-hearted. Probably, why he continues to be loved, admired and respected in whole of Kasarwadi and even beyond. Though he has bought a house in Indrayani Nagar, his friends know, he will never dump Kasarwadi, the place which made him popular and where he is much loved resident. He will always remain the masterblaster of Kasarwadi. Congrats and keep going, Rajabhau….
