TiE Pune Announces Women Entrepreneur’s Global Pitch Contest

Calling Pune’s businesswomen to participate

· Global winner gets an equity-free prize money of $100,000

· Runner up wins $25,000 equity-free money

Pune, June 26: TiE, a not-for-profit organisation that focuses its energies on promoting and fostering entrepreneurship, is helping women entrepreneurs under TiE Women’s initiative. “Women are very enterprising and definitely bring in a different flavour to business” says Zelam Chaubal who heads the Women’s initiative at TiE Pune. “They provide a more holistic approach to business. Besides the talents a woman shows at running the business of her home, these can be put to greater use by managing a commercial enterprise. We offer women all that they need to build and scale up their business.”, she adds.

 

To showcase the ventures founded by women entrepreneurs, TiE offers a global platform – The TiE Women’s Global Pitch Contest, where these businesswomen can participate. This contest is for start-ups from any domain that are not less than three years and not more than seven years old. The winner from TiE Pune goes to pitch in Dubai for 4 nights 5 days trip to pitch in front of global investors. The global winner gets an equity free prize money of $100,000, while the runner up wins $25,000 equity free money. There is also an opportunity for the winners of all India TiE chapters – not only will she win this, but she will also be able to jump onto the global market.

 

In fact, in 2020, TiE Pune had a proud winner – Parul Ganju, Co-founder & CEO, Ahammune Biosciences Pvt Ltd, who was selected the Runner-up and awarded $25,000 Equity-free Prize Money!

 

Apart from the prize, the participants will be able to sharpen their pitch, get nurtured, be able to access not just the local TiE Pune network, but also the global network of businesses, with the help of TiE Gurus who are themselves successful businesspersons.

 

Besides this contest, TiE has several programs that help young entrepreneurs build their businesses. Though the accepted statistic for success of a start-up worldwide is 10%, at TiE it is 39%. This is done via a specially designed eight-month Nurture Accelerator program where TiE Pune selects companies and grooms them to success.
