June 19, Bengaluru: Construction work of Much awaited and demanded *International Cultural and Heritage center memorial of late Siddaganga seer Shivakumar in his birth place Veerapur village of Magadi taluk with a estimated cost of Rs 25 crore has formally begun on Friday.
Earlier state government had announced Rs 25 cr fund for the memorial of Siddaganga seer and allotted the works to KRIDL (Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited).
Siddaganga seer died at the age of 111 on 21 Jan 2019 at his Asharm in Tumakuru and his devotees had demanded government of memorial named after him.
KRIDL chairman Rudresh and Minister for Kannada and culture Aravind Limbavali formally held the ground breaking ceremony for the memorial on Friday.
Briefing about the memorial Chairman of KRIDL Rudresh said that, 111 ft height statue of Shivaganga will be constructed and life story narrative monument come under the statue. This will be converted as a tourist spot with dias for cultural events, he said.
