Bharatanatyam Arangetram of Divya Vijayalakshmi Dharmarajan will be held on Sunday, 22nd January, 2023 from 06:00 pm onwards at JSS Auditorium 38th Cross, 1st Main, 8th Block, Jayanagar, Bengaluru 560070. Bharatanatyam tradition has a notable ritual in its training system called Arangetram. Arangetram means ‘ascent to the stage’, marks a dancer’s graduation to a professional performer on stage. The ceremony is a student’s first-ever complete solo performance on stage, followed by years of training.
Divya says, “Dance is the hidden language of the soul ” These lines have never felt more real than today. The beginning is a blur, and the thought of it makes me nervous, but all the more excited. I still remember a 5 year old in a new atmosphere fighting for pots while learning the dance taarakka bindige. It’s been 10years now living in this world of dance, I cherish every memory I have made since. Dance has made me travel to parts of the country, taught me stories of mythology culture, but most importantly to be a better person. I’m happy and proud to be the person I am right now. I only have dance and Raksha maam to thank for this. Dance for me is not a destination but a journey. I carry with me a motto for life. ” Never stop dancing “
