Former Maharashtra Home Minister Mr Anil Deshmukh is out of jail. As he walked out of Arthur Road jail on Wednesday evening, NCP rank and file celebrated his release and heaved a sign of relief. NCP top leaders like Mr Ajit Pawar, Mr Praful Patil, Mr Chhagan Bhujbal, Mr Dilip Walse-Patil flew in from Nagpur to welcome Mr Deshmukh. NCP State president Mr Jayant Patil was also present. Mr Deshmukh’s family members were also present. Mr Deshmukh looked in good health as NCP was taken to his residence in an open jeep. Speaking to reporters, Deshmukh said all allegations levelled against him were baseless. “Though I did not commit any crime, I was put in jail. But I have faith in our judiciary and the Constitution….my fight for justice will continue,” he said. As NCP workers threw flowers on him, Mr Deshmukh smiled and waved to the crowd which had lined up on both sides of the road to his residence.
