As the rains battered Mumbai over the past few days, Colaba reported its heaviest single-day rainfall in 46 years. Colaba has received 331.8 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours, IMD said.
K.S. Hosalikar, deputy director general of IMD, Mumbai tweeted, “6 Aug rainfall updates.
Mumbai, Thane & parts of NM recd extremely hvy falls (more than 200mm) at few places in last 24 hrs. Rest of the places it was hvy to very hvy

Harsha Bhogle tweeted , “330 mm (13 in) of rains in the last 24 hrs. #MumbaiRains. Normally it is the suburbs that bear the brunt, this time South Mumbai seems to have been most hit. Single biggest rainday since 1974 at Colaba….. And more than four and a half months of this angry year left…”
