Army Public School bags the ‘General Championship’ in Inter-school Sports Competition…

Pune, February 6: The Army Public School won the highest number of medals, while also bagging the ‘General Championship’ in the Inter-school Sports (Running, Long Jump & Relay) Competition organized by the Maharashtriya Mandal recently. The competition was held on 5th (Monday) and 6th (Tuesday) February 2024 on the Athletics Track of Katariya High School. This being the 12th year, 850 athletes from 52 schools participated in this competition.

Students under the age group of 8 will have 4 x 50m relay, running, and long jump. There will be 4 x 80m relay, running and long jump for students under the age of 10, while students under 12 years will have 4 x 100m relay, running and long jump. This year’s competition has received special support from the Cosmos Bank.

The formal inauguration took place in the presence of Ajit Gijre; Director of Cosmos Bank. General Secretary; Rohan Damle, Director of Education Department; Neha Damle of Maharashtriya Mandal, Principal Nidhi Samant, Aditi Sahastrabuddhe, Anjali Joshi, Ruchi Dhakephalkar were also present on the occasion. The prize distribution ceremony of the competition was concluded at the Agashe College Ground.

The winners were awarded a total of Rs 1,00,000, medals, and certificates. The top three winning teams in relay were presented with mementos and certificates. The Army Public School won the General Championship by scoring 26 points on the scoreboard. Amit Dange played the moderator for the competition while Tejas Desurkar and Sachin Pardeshi presented the Vote of Thanks.
