106 junior golfers from 16 countries competed in the three-day tournament.
Bangalore: Reflecting the high achievements of Greenwood High International School, Grade 3 student Ruslaan Alam Khan, clinched the 2nd runner-up position at the U.S. Kids Golf Malaysian Championship 2024 held recently. The tournament attracted aspiring young golfers from around the world and 106 junior golfers from 16 countries competed in the three-day tournament. The highly competitive international tournament was held at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The U.S. Kids Malaysian Championships is the first regional nationals under the U. S. Kids umbrella in Asia this year. It will be followed by more such events in Thailand, Singapore and India. The three-day event carried WAGR (World Amateur Golf Ranking) points and granted Priority points for entries into U.S. Kids World Championships and European Championships to be held later. Ruslaan has qualified for Thailand, Australian Masters & European championship so far.
On this achievement, Ruslaan said: “Playing against talented golfers from around the world was an incredible experience. I learned so much and I’m so proud to have secured second runner-up. This motivates me to train even harder and achieve even greater things in the future. My dream is to one day compete in the biggest tournaments and become a world champion!”
