Pune: DEPUTY Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has promised the citizens that he will make Pimpri-Chinchwad slum-free. Ajit Pawar is known for making promises and living up to them.
On Saturday, Ajit Pawar was in Pimpri-Chinchwad where he attended the event organised by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation regarding draw of lots of 938 houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajit Pawar said,”In Solapur, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a low-cost housing project. The houses have been constructed on 360 acre land. Similarly, in Pimpri-Chinchwad, low-costing housing will be built for construction workers. We have planned to make Pimpri-Chinchwad slum-free.”
On Saturday, Ajit Pawar drew lots for 938 flats constructed for the economically weaker section of the society at Udyamnagar and Pimpri. On the occasion, Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Choubey, NCP Pimpri-Chinchwad chief Ajit Gavahane and NCP leader Nana Kate were present.
Ajit Pawar spoke at length about the progress being made by Pimpri-Chinchwad city. ”Construction workers from Marathwada, Vidarbh and Jalgaon are coming in drooves in the city for the purpose of finding jobs. It is the duty of the state government and PCMC to make houses available for them,” he said.
Addressing the gathering which had come for the draw of lots with high expectation, Ajit Pawar said,”Those who did not get houses should not get disappointed. They should try again. Besides, those whose have been alloted houses should get them on them.”
