Pune: The marathon was organised in partnership with RunOn and Secure Giving     UBS – a leading global financial services firm – supported and recorded participation from more than 600 of its employees in a marathon held in Pune on Sunday, 25 February 2024. Organised in collaboration with RunOn and Secure Giving, the event was held to raise funds as well as awareness to foster education and reading habits among children.

The marathon was open to UBS employees across categories – 21-km half marathon, a 10-km run and a 5-km run. The event was inaugurated with an official flag-off by UBS leaders Puneet Vyas (Stream Technical Lead, CDIO IB Operations and CDIO IB Regional Lead, India), Anubhav Agarwal (Chief Administrative Officer for India Service Company), Jeevan Dalvi (Head of WMPC Tech India Engineering Centre) and Sharmeen Kutky (Community Impact Lead for India Social Impact & Philanthropy). During an opening speech, UBS highlighted its sustained dedication to social responsibility initiatives, primarily education and literacy among children.

Contributions collected through the marathon will be channelled towards United Way Mumbai’s ‘Let’s READ’ campaign. This initiative is meant to inculcate a passion for reading by providing underprivileged children access to reading materials. The funds raised will facilitate the provision of a reading kit comprising four books, a journal, a pen and a bag to 1,000 children across Maharashtra.

UBS employees find tremendous inspiration when they unite to run for a cause.

The marathon is yet another step forward in UBS’s mission to create a positive social impact, emphasizing the importance of education.
